Workshop # 1: Career Clarity: How to Turn Your Passion into a Profession

Target Audience: Middle & High School Students  Time: Sat. August 2nd, 1:30 – 4:30 PM

Description and Outcomes: Imam/Career coach Youssef will lead an interactive, fun, and hands-on workshop to help attendees discover their work profile. Attendees will learn how to align their career aspirations with their Islamic values. They will take a career assessment, engage in a group discussion to understand their results. They should be able to explore different levels of commitment and explore unique career path options that match their career assessment results and commitment level. They will connect each career path option to an academic plan with a college/university program of their choice.  The workshop will include social/emotional learning activities, small group discussions, and presentations. The workshop will be concluded with ceremony to for certifications.

They will learn important information about each possible career option such as:

• The nature of the day-to-day activities
• Typical education, certification and licensing needed
• Average pay and future growth rate
• Possible local college/university programs

Workshop #2: Design Your Future: Crafting Your 5-Year Odyssey Plan (Stanford Inspired Program)

Target Audience: College Students & Young Professionals  Time:  Sun. Aug. 3rd, 1:00 – 3:00 PM

Achieving career success isn’t just about working hard; it’s about working smart. This interactive, and hands-on workshop leverages Odyssey Planning, designed by Stanford University’s Life Design Lab, to help you map out multiple potential career paths over the next five years.
