Sheik Amr –
Imam Amr Dabour, a respected scholar with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University, Egypt, is known for his Master’s Thesis exploring the “Infallibility of Prophets Between Torah, Bible, and the Qur’an.” He has pursued non-degree courses in critical thinking, engaged in Fiqh studies under esteemed scholars, and has 15 years of leadership experience in Islamic fields. With over a decade of dedicated service in North Carolina and Florida, he possesses a deep understanding of Islam and the Muslim communities in the United States, making him a valuable resource for Muslims worldwide.
Bay County Islamic Society is located in the heart of Northwest Florida in the City of Panama City. Established over 30 years ago by a small number of Muslims, today it is a culturally diverse and dynamic community that offers a feeling of kinship that is constantly growing. A unique feature of our community is that we are the only masjid bordering any of the neighboring major cities. BCIS provides several services including five daily prayers, Friday prayer, study groups (halaqas), multiple educational programs for children and adults, as well as burial grounds.
Situated at the heart of Northwest Florida within Panama City, the Bay County Islamic Society has a rich history that spans over three decades. Originally founded by a small group of Muslims, it has evolved into a thriving and culturally diverse community, continually expanding its sense of fellowship. A distinctive aspect of our community is its unique position as the sole mosque bordering the nearby major cities. BCIS offers a wide array of services, encompassing the five daily prayers, Friday prayers, engaging study groups known as halaqas, an array of educational programs catering to both children and adults, and even burial grounds. As a center for spiritual growth and community bonding, we take pride in serving the needs of our members and fostering a welcoming environment for all.
